Karachi, Oct. 3 (PR): The team of Medical Aid Foundation consisting of their doctors, social workers, paramedics visited in Sial and Mondhur villages and its adjoining Katcha areas of Jatoi Goth, Mastoi Goth, Ghoowhiwan, Sheikh Gulab, Lashari, Jamali, Gul Muhammad Koreja, Ahmed khan Behrami Village, Daudhani Phawar, Rajbhani etc.
The 4-day camp was very hectic as hundreds of people from surrounding villages had come to avail the ration bags and medical assistance.
The evenings are very chilly here as water is still all around. Woolen blankets and sweater were given to the sick, the elderly and children. Over four thousand people were given medical assistance and 3500 packets of food containing rice, atta, sugar, tea, lentils and biscuits were distributed per family. Many cases of cerebral malaria were also detected. Jaundice and Typhoid fever, skin infections were on the rise.
The Ford ambulance, donated by the Rotary Club of Watford North was made excellent use of as a mobile clinic on the Bund. The doctors who helped and accompanied Medical Aid Foundation were Dr. Saira khan, President MAF, Dr. Rafiq Daudpota, Atta Mohammad Chandio, Taufeeq Ahmed, Dr. Mohammad Siddiqui, Dr. Ali Shah, Dr. Manzoor Ali,, Dr. Abdul Rehman, Dr. Abdul Ghaffar Bhatti and volunteers Khurshid Ali, Ahmed, Nadeem Badshah S. Aleem, Zahid, Sophia khan distributed the relief goods.
The poor people of there are totally drained out of their energy due to this worst calamity,, expectant mother and the elderly are too weak even to talk. All help from the government inspire of their efforts cannot reach every one particularly the Katcha areas. It is Medical Aid Foundation’s effort to work in those areas only.
The relief camps of Medical Aid Foundation will continue for further eight weeks. |
